Biography

Jennifer Tefft is a fired up,  energizing presence that creates earthy music from its roots and breathes fresh,  rock and roll life into them. Their music combines intense rhythms with unique guitar textures and vocals that wind easily from darkly ethereal to soaring anthems, creating their own brand of Gritty-Lush Alternative Rock.

With an eye on both performance and new music,  Jennifer Tefft brings exciting changes to her full band lineup with the addition of Tim Provost on drums and Stephen "Sharky" Beccia on bass and background vocals. The two join John Parrillo and Jennifer to form the latest iteration of the band with a brand new name,  Jennifer Tefft & The Strange.   The new lineup released their new album Strange Beginnings which was  produced by Grammy award-winning Bob St. John in April of 2024.  The album has garnered an "Album Of The Year" award, along with three other nominations in the 2024 New England Music Awards and has landed on several "Best of 2024" lists.  The first single off the album "Caffeine" reached the #1 spot on Radio Indie Alliance's Top 100 songs!

After getting her start playing for change in the subways and streets of Cambridge,  MA, Jennifer Tefft met guitarist John Parrillo many years ago and they began writing and playing together as a duo.  Following several years playing the circuit in Boston and Cambridge,  they released their first album “Dig This Thing” along with bass player Jeff St. Pierre and drummer Phil Antoniades.  They soon hit the road, playing shows along the Eastern seaboard and the Midwest. Since then,  Jennifer has gone on to release four more albums with her band on her self-owned label Gypsy Spin Music.

Jennifer has shared the stage with a diverse range of artists,  from Aerosmith,  Warrant & Quiet Riot,  Sarah McLachlan at the legendary Lilith Fair,  Missing Persons,  Grant Hart, The Sheila Divine,  and many more at a variety of renowned venues, festivals and events across the country.

When she’s not performing with the band or doing select solo shows, Jennifer spends her time writing and recording new music,  hanging out with her family,  snowboarding and opening and closing the door every five minutes for her 3 dogs just outside of Boston,  Massachusetts.
